The Armory Show, New York: Booth P27

Sarah Almehairi's ongoing Rebuild series is the second iteration of her Building Blocks series. These assemblages of recycled wood are intuitively layered to create balance and challenge the materiality of the work. While integrating color, elements begin to resemble one another while contrasting others. Through their re- assemblage, they hold a memory of their past compositions, and influence the next one’s making. Their connections roll onto the following work, constantly evolving their form. They are paintings, they are sculptures, they create a language.
