Anahita Razmi | Artist Residency

Anahita Razmi is a German-Iranian visual artist who works with moving images, photography, installation and performance. In her transcultural artistic practice, she often uses strategies of appropriation and contextual displacement to deconstruct the relationships between representation and power as well as identity and representation.

 

Razmi's works have been shown internationally, including at Museo Jumex, Mexico City, Hall 14, Leipzig, Zacheta National Gallery of Art, Warsaw, Kunstraum Innsbruck, Austria, Sazmanab Center for Contemporary Art, Tehran, Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Germany, at The National Art Center, Tokyo, at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, Germany, as well as at the 7th Çanakkale Biennale, the 55th Venice Biennale and the 5th Bucharest Biennale. In addition to other prizes and awards, Razmi received a scholarship from the Tarabya Cultural Academy, Istanbul (2020/2023), the Goethe at LUX Residency, London (2018), the MAK Schindler Scholarship, Los Angeles (2013) and the Emdash Award, Frieze Foundation , London (2011).

 

Anahita Razmi was a scholarship holder at the Tarabya Cultural Academy in Istanbul from April to May 2021 and from December 2021 to January 2022. From March 2023, Razmi was back in Istanbul, initially supported by the Zilberman Residency and from April to May 2023 as an extension as a scholarship holder at the Tarabya Cultural Academy.
