The Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) honors the multimedia artist and ZHdK-Fine-Arts-Alumnus Olaf Breuning for his merits with the "Honorary Companion ZHdK".
The paintings, videos, installations, sculptures, photographs and performances of the New York-based artist have been shown in numerous international exhibitions and are represented in the collections of renowned museums. Breuning's works deal with everyday objects and consumer goods in a humorous and ironic way and present the visual worlds shaped by the mass media in a new light.
Once a year on the University Day, the ZHdK awards the honorary title "Honorary Companion ZHdK" for many years of merit. The ceremonial presentation should have taken place during the University Day on October 22, but had to be postponed until 2021 due to the increasing number of Corona cases.
